Idea, I believe could work.
Why we should have it:
Have you ever wondered to yourself, why should I join a faction? other than to either simply wear P.A., food, a place to stay, etc. But lets think about this, they all offer that. The same thing is also provided from towns, with the exception of P.A. mainly. But what happens if we throw MCMMO into the entire thing?
Think of it this way, each set rank would provide the promotion of not only your rank, but also certian MCMMO skills in which you will be using. As an example, lets use a Legion recruit. The person has started out with a default all 0 stats in MCMMO; but then they are promoted to a recruit of the Legion. That promotion can also bear the fruit of, lets say, a level 50 in swords. As well as other skills, such as a little more herbalism for food to heal more, or even a little higher unarmed skill.
But now, you must be thinking "25th, what happens if they leave? You just made them horribly strong!". Well, this is a simple fix. This is were the benefits of a faction are negated as well. Lets say you start with 0 in swords, join the Legion, gain a prmotion with 50+ levels added to swords. But they you leave or/are kicked out. Well, upon leaving, the rank you gained will have a total of all the stats given to you & will be deducted from you upon leaving. just like P.A., when you leave the Enclave or BoS, you can no longer use it. The same would apply if you were demoted.
This would not only bring more benefits to factions, but also give ranks more of a meaning. You look strong, you have a title that states that, now you can show that you earned it.
The main idea is adding more benefits, & options to factions. As well as penalties of leaving or being demoted.
